About Nathan

I’m Nathan, a documentary photographer based in Cardiff.
I focus on real people, real spaces, and the atmosphere that makes a place feel alive. My work blends street photography with a documentary approach — honest moments, natural light, and the small details that reveal the character of a business or a neighbourhood.
I didn’t start with photography. For years, I made documentary‑style videos, learning how to observe people without interrupting the moment. That experience shaped the way I shoot now: quietly, patiently, and with an eye for the things most people walk past.
When I picked up a camera, something clicked. I realised I wasn’t interested in staged setups or polished perfection — I was drawn to authenticity. The way someone works behind a counter. The atmosphere of a street at dusk. The interaction between customers and staff. The texture of a place that tells you exactly what it feels like to be there.
Today, I bring that approach into my photography.
I work with independent businesses, creatives, and community spaces who want imagery that feels true to who they are — not forced, not overly produced, but grounded in real moments.
Whether I’m photographing a barbershop, a café, a market street, or a candid moment between people, my goal is always the same: to capture the identity of a place through the people who give it life.
If that’s the kind of storytelling you want for your brand, I’d love to work with you.
